Basabe-Desmonts, Lourdes

Lourdes Basabe-Desmonts holds a BSc in Chemistry by the Autonomous University of Madrid (2001) and was awarded a PhD in Chemistry by the University of Twente, Netherlands (2006) after completing her PhD studies in Supramolecular Chemistry and Nanotechnology (Fluorescent Self assembled Monolayers on Glass as New Sensing Materials).

She has worked as a post-doctoral researcher at the MESA+ Institute for Nanotechnology, University of Twente (2006) and at the Biomedical Diagnostics Institute, Dublin City University (Ireland, 2006-2009). Senior researcher at Biomedical Diagnostics Institute, Dublin City University (2009-2012), winner of the L’Oreal UNESCO research grant For Women in Science for the United Kingdom and Ireland (2010-2012) and visiting scholar at the Department of Bioengineering of the University of California, Berkeley (2011) and at the School of Chemical Sciences and Center for Brain Research of the University of Auckland (New Zealand, 2011). She has been a research lecturer at CICmicroGUNE (2012-2014).

She is a research lecturer at the University of the Basque Country since 2014 and an assistant lecturer at Dublin City University since 2013.

Lourdes Basabe-Desmonts is a young corresponding member of Jakiunde since November 2016.
